One response to COVID-19 was how quickly NDCA along with the artists and communities across the state pivoted to make sure art was central to new ways of gathering, even with social distancing. Special thanks to staff Rebecca Engelman and Troyd Geist for jumping at the chance to alter current NDCA programs, making sure to keep artists employed, seniors engaged, and families and communities involved. We invited three writers (Matthew Musacchia, Nita Ritzke and Alicia Underlee Nelson) to capture some of these Little Stories that NDCA is thrilled to share with you. The stories will also be featured in part in the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage online magazine focusing on pandemic responses as well as aired on Prairie Public Radio.
