Duties and TasksThis position provides leadership, direction, and management of finance and administration duties for the Office of Attorney General. This position develops and implements the financial plans for the Office of Attorney General. These responsibilities include fiscal management, budget and legislative matters, grants management, licensing, payroll, office audits and annual comprehensive financial reporting, procurement and printing, contracts management, records and forms management, information processing, and administrative functions. These services are provided to all office divisions with very diverse needs and requiring complex financial management. Direct the fiscal and accounting activities of the Office of Attorney General.Direct the administration, development, analysis, and implementation of the office budget. Oversee office use of federal grants. Direct the development of fiscal notes, determine the fiscal impact of legislation and initiated measures, and represent the office on legislation with a fiscal impactProvide leadership and direction to the Finance Division of the Office of Attorney GeneralDirect office revenue tracking, forecasting, and statistical reporting activitiesDirect Office Procurement, Central Supplies, Printing, Records and Forms Management and Word Processing ActivitiesResearch proposed legislation and testify at legislative hearings.Duties assigned to this position are at the discretion of the Attorney General. In addition to the monthly salary, this position includes fully paid health insurance for employee and family (with a wellness rider included), the option to participate in employee-paid dental and vision for employee and family, participation in the state NDPERS defined benefit retirement plan as well as the option to participate in the 457 deferred compensation plan, the option to contribute to a medical spending account, and earning annual leave and sick leave.Employees in this position are eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. Five years of experience in budget development required. Certified Public Accountant license preferredFive years of experience supervising professional and administrative employees highly preferred. Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage detailed information efficiently and accurately.Demonstrated leadership ability with strong skills in planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and overseeingHigh ethical standards.Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated ability to communicate tactfully and provide superior customer service.Ability to establish and maintain effective, harmonious working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, employees, legislature, and the public.Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.Successful completion of the interview process, reference checks, consumer credit, and standard background and criminal record checks to determine the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform tasks.
