Three Rivers Human Service Zone This position is located in the Mandan office. Three Rivers Human Service Zone partners with the Department of Health and Human Services to deliver exceptional Economic Assistance programs to our community. Three Rivers Human Service Zone is seeking an Eligibility Worker for the Economic Assistance Department.The Economic Assistance Unit provides for the assessment and eligibility determination of applicants for a variety of programs by interpreting and applying complex state, federal, and county policies. This position requires knowledge of community resources and Economic Assistance programs including Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Health Care Coverage, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Low-Income Energy Assistance, Child Care Assistance, Healthy Steps and General Assistance. Program Training is provided for this position. Some travel throughout Three Rivers Human Service Zone and Region 3 could occur.To succeed in this position, you should have strong verbal and written communication skills, computer literacy, collaboration, and decision-making skills. You will also need to be comfortable working with all types of software and database applications, with a willingness to learn new technology programs. You will need to have a strong understanding of complex program policies and procedures. An ideal candidate for this position will be organized and able to communicate effectively with diverse populations. You will have an eye for detail, be able to manage your time and priorities effectively and pride yourself on excellent communications skills, empathy, and being a team player. You will have a passion for helping others and making a difference in our community.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must have a high school diploma or GED, PLUS one of the following:Three years of work experience in the clerical, accounting, financial, legal or teaching fieldsThree years of a bachelor's degree program (90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours)Three years combined education and experience as listed aboveCompletion of the Eligibility Worker Certificate Program offered at Bismarck State College or formerly offered at Lake Region State CollegePreference will be given to candidates with 1 year of work experience determining eligibility in a human service office in one of the following Economic Assistance Programs; TANF, Food Stamps, Foster Care, Medicaid, or LIHEAP.

Intern for ND Horse Racing Commission The North Dakota Horse Racing Commission has openings for two summer 2025 interns. Join our talented and dedicated team and gain knowledge and experience in a variety of components of the horse racing business. The positions will work directly with ND Racing Commission staff to complete the licensing process at the live Horse Races in Fargo and Belcourt. This includes reviewing and verifying documents and information, record checks, and fee collection. Time will also be spent in the areas of racing compliance, safety & security and conducting investigations. There will also be an introduction to the following positions: Veterinarian, Track Manager, Safety Steward, Gate Crew, Photo Finish/Video process, Paddock, Breed Fund Administrator and Horse Identifier.
