Early Childhood Section - Bismarck, North Dakota - State Early Childhood Special Education Coordinator As the State Early Childhood Special Education/619 Coordinator , you will lead initiatives relating to statewide quality service provision aligned to the assurance of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA, 2004) and state requirements. You will collaborate with multifaceted teams, including schools and diverse stakeholder groups. You will provide training and technical assistance related to early childhood special education services and federal mandates pertaining to improving early childhood outcomes and ensuring a smooth transition between programs. You will work closely with the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction, Office of Specially Designed Services team on the monitoring and supervision of early childhood special education programs across the state. You will manage multiple projects, serve on various committees, and provide expertise in evidence-based practices in early childhood. Additionally, you will work closely with the state special education staff and the state early childhood team to analyze data and strengthen policies to guide decisions across state systems. You will utilize the state's Individualized Educational Program (IEP) system to ensure timely and accurate service provision is administered in compliance with IDEA regulations. To thrive in this position , you must actively support improvement efforts with a person-centered approach and be committed to improving access to quality services for families and young children with disabilities. You must be skilled at crafting professional documents, developing guidance, and engaging in meaningful dialogue with key stakeholders while maintaining composure and confidence in the face of challenges. You are adept at managing multiple projects with competing deadlines and have the ability to shift priorities as needed, all while maintaining a high level of performance and customer service. You have experience implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), providing specially designed instruction and leading training. You should be proficient with various technological platforms such as, TIENET, Microsoft TEAMS and Excel. Most importantly, you have a growth mindset and have the vision to elevate a program to the next level. To be considered for the Early Childhood Special Education/619 Coordinator position , you must have a bachelor's degree AND experience in providing special education services to young children as well as a strong ability to analyze data and provide appropriate trainings to meet the needs of special education service providers. You must be able to work in the State Capitol, located in Bismarck and be able to travel in state and out of state. A master's level degree in special education or related field and current educator licensure is preferred. The main responsibility is to devote attention and appropriate supervision to the student/client during non-instructional hours. Hours may vary. This position is temporary and available during center-based programming weeks. LC, American with Disabilities Act [ADA], Individuals with Disabilities Education Act [IDEA], Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Medicaid, Medicare, Disability-connected employment law, Social Security Disability, and Guardianship. Work experience training and providing recommendations to others on legal rights issues, conducting outreach or public awareness activities, or developing legal materials or resources for groups, such as clients, professionals, or the public.Experience participating on issue-focused committees, task forces, workgroups or other groups seeking systemic changes.Work experience that involved preparing and presenting testimony to legislative and/or regulatory bodies or other involvement in the legislative process - state or federal. Training and experience in Conflict Resolution or Alternative Dispute Resolution.
