Aircraft CommanderAct as Pilot-in-Command or Second-in-Command to provide aerial transportation for state employees, conduct aerial photography and mapping.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a commercial pilot's certificate with an instrument rating, single-engine land rating, multiengine land rating, and high-altitude endorsement.Minimum of 2nd Class FAA Medical Certificate.Four years of flight experience with minimum of {1200 hours fixed-wing total flight time, of which 1000 hours are as pilot-in-command (PIC), 500 hours PIC cross-country time, 250 hours PIC fixed-wing turbine time, 100 hours PIC multiengine airplane time which must be in non-centerline-thrust aircraft and 75 actual or simulated instrument PIC flight hours, 50 of which must have been in actual flight} OR {BE200 PIC trained and checked by an approved facility within the last four years.}Work after hours, weekends, and holidays may be required.Ability to lift and carry items up to 30 pounds.Preference will be given to applicants with experience in:Multiengine Airline Transport Certificate.King Air flight time.250 Hours multiengine turboprop flight experience within previous five yearsCivilian flight experience within previous 5 yearsMaintenance training and/or maintenance experience.FAR Part 91/121/135 crew resource management experience.Applicants will only be considered for PIC if they have attended an approved King Air simulator school within the previous 12 months, are approved for consideration by the Chief Pilot and are approved for PIC duties by aviation insurance underwriter.Candidates' qualifications will be subject to review by Chief Pilot and aviation insurance underwriter.

This position works with the Ground Water Protection Program in the Division of Water Quality. The Groundwater Protection Program focuses its efforts on preventing contamination of groundwater through programs designed to control potential sources of contamination. We also work to restore groundwater that has been polluted.Responsibilities of the position include:Providing technical oversight for site characterization and remedial action activities at contaminant release/spill sites, including data interpretation and evaluations of geologic and hydrogeologic conditions, contaminant levels and associated potential health risks, and appropriate remedial alternatives.Conducting inspections of underground injection wells regulated by the Underground Injection Control ProgramCoordinating and assisting in groundwater sampling activities completed in conjunction with the Ambient Groundwater Monitoring Programs, including well sampling, equipment calibration and maintenance, and data entry and reporting.Completing source water protection area delineations and contaminant source inventories as part of the Source Water Protection ProgramDeveloping Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPP), Field Sampling Plans (FSP), and Standard Operating Procedures for water quality sampling projects in North DakotaMaintaining clear and open communication with local, state, and federal agencies (e.g., US EPA, NRCS, DWR, NDGF)Responding to pollution incidents (e.g., contaminant spills or releases) and complaints, as needed.Field work and/or meeting attendance with overnight travel is a part of these positions and can occur during any time of the year. Fieldwork may require working in physically demanding situations (e.g., heat, cold, rain, and wind), the moving of heavy objects, traversing uneven terrain, and operating sampling equipment (e.g., sampling pumps, meters, sample coolers).

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for an Environmental Scientist II, you must have a bachelor's degree in natural or physical science with emphasis in biology, chemistry, microbiology, environmental science, or closely related field and two years of related experience. DEQ starting salary range for Environmental Scientist II is $5,120/month, depending on experience. To be considered for an Environmental Scientist I, you must have a bachelor's degree in natural or physical science with emphasis in biology, chemistry, microbiology, environmental science, or closely related field. DEQ starting salary range for Environmental Scientist I is $4,288/month, depending on experience. This position requires individual to possess a valid driver's license.

Ability to review, interpret, and apply environmental regulations.Strong oral and written communication skills.Strong ability to work both as a team and individually.Site assessment and remediation experienceTechnical/scientific report writing.Knowledge on the use of computers, with emphasis on Word, WordPerfect, Excel, and Access.
