CADD Editing duties consist of producing standardized CADD layouts of preliminary survey data, gathering relevant data and resources from various sources including field technicians, consultants, and utility companies, and creating digital terrain models. The role requires adherence to NDDOT CADD standards in plan production, performing quality control checks for accuracy and consistency and maintaining daily documentation files on production events.LiDAR and Photogrammetric responsibilities include developing and utilizing techniques to process LiDAR point cloud data, creating, and implementing classification techniques for multiple sources of LiDAR, and generating preliminary survey topography graphics and surface generation. The role includes collecting preliminary survey data from aerial imagery using a stereo soft-copy workstation and performing various photogrammetric operations such as stereo compilation, image creation and manipulation, analytical triangulation, and ortho-rectified mosaic production. Stereo vision acuity is a requirement for this responsibility. UAS operations involve implementing mission planning to ensure project scope is met efficiently, utilizing UAVs and sensor payloads to collect field data for preliminary surveys, and processing GNSS and IMU data to create accurate trajectories. The role also includes post-processing raw data to produce quality LiDAR point cloud files, as well as creating and maintaining related documents and manuals.This role involves continuous training to develop and refine accuracy and efficiency while maintaining documentation that outlines the procedures for creating preliminary survey production files for NDDOT projects.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for an Engineering Technician IV, you must have at least six years of work experience related to the engineering technician duties listed. College-level course work and/or degree in an engineering or related field reflecting the required abilities for this position may be substituted for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis. As a Transportation Engineer Manager Team Lead you will Provide engineering oversite on all construction projects in the Bismarck District and keep the ADE & DE informed of progress on all projects. Supervise the signing, traffic signals and street lighting within the cities on state roadways. Work with landowners, utility companies, developers, within the Bismarck Mandan area on permits. May include driveway permits, utility permits, agreements to work in right of way, or others. Review the permitted work in the field for compliance and close out when completed. Maintain district files and records. Conduct Transit facility inspections.Construction Project Reviews: Conduct field and documentation reviews of State and County projects run by DOT, consultant, or county staff. In the field review items such as traffic control, construction methods, sampling and testing, and compliance with plans and specs. Records reviews include materials certifications, PQEs, sampling and testing frequency, pay estimates, labor compliance, and other items. Conduct in depth CERT reviews of at least 10% of the district projects per year. Review staffing, SWPPP and environmental permits, CARS documentation and consultant estimates.Construction Design and Finals: Review project finals, review PSE plans, and complete district designs and environmental documentation.

The individual in this position will perform data collection operations in support of the agency water resource management functions. The Engineering Technician performs a wide variety of duties associated with collecting water samples from various observation wells throughout the state of North Dakota. This position reports to the lead environmental technician.

Duties and Tasks

Extensive weekly travel throughout North Dakota requiring overnight hotel stays. Obtain, document, and submit water samples to the ND Department of Environmental Quality for analysis.Maintain, service, and restock supplies and equipment related to the collection of water samples.Enter field and lab related water chemistry results into the database. Scan all related documents into their respective location.Perform maintenance duties at observation wells such as general clean up, mowing, concrete pad repair or installation.Provide assistance to other technicians with water level measurements, ("well runs") throughout the field season, and assist with other duties as needed.Perform maintenance and service on all equipment related to the job duties including, but not limited to, vehicles, trailers, small engines, water pumps, and electric water level tapes.Mapping well locations that need to be sampled for the upcoming field season, along with navigation of maps based on the Public Land Survey System using townships, ranges, sections, and quarters.Inspect, correct, scan, and enter documents into the database that are being converted from paper files to electronic files. Work with other entities to schedule water sampling for rural water districts.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires successful completion of high school or GED and 4 years or more of relevant experience. Design Team LeaderOversee the development of the plans assigned to the District and determine assignments.Organize, conduct and attend plan reviews, PS&E and TS & L.Review existing conditions, survey data and gather information needed.Comply with design and department standards and policies.Project plan preparation.Provide input during project development at preliminary field reviews and other meetings.District Title VI Specialist.Oversee Preparation of Project FinalsReview final records and provide recommendations on acceptance.Prepare and organize project records for use in project finals.Construction Project SupervisionSupervise large federal aid projects.Plan and develop goals and objectives.Supervise work of employees and consultants performing inspection duties materials testing and surveying.Provide proper training and conduct safety meetings.Coordinate schedules to avoid unreasonable delays to the project.Keep District informed of the activities of the Consultant and Contractor to ensure all guidelines are being followed.Contract Administration and Records ManagementUtilize computer and Construction Automated Records System (CARS).Track proper shop drawings and/or certification of materials required.Negotiate change order items with contractors.Conduct necessary EEO and Labor Compliance interviews required for project.Construction Inspection, Materials Testing, and SurveyingOversee survey data collection for projects.Resolve problems encountered by survey crew.Determine elevations and establish roadway grades.Knowledge of GEOPAK and data collection.Operations of state-of-the-art electronic survey equipment.Review and approve material certifications.Resolve problems encountered by testing of materials.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in civil engineering,Four years of professional-level engineering work experience,Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of ND.Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent on satisfactorily completing the interview process and reference check.
